1. First off — THE PACKERS WIN! THE PACKERS WIN! I can honestly say that my eyes got a little bit teary-eyed yesterday. Sad, I know.

When the Giants won the WS, I was happy, but only cause everyone else was happy. And then I fully admitted that I can’t wait til my REAL team wins a championship because I’m pretty sure I’ll cry. And sure enough, I held up my end of the bargain. What an unbelievable moment for Aaron Rodgers, having been through everything he has to finally being able to call himself a champion.

And of course, I was the happiest for Charles Woodson. I cannont express enough how big of a fan I’ve ALWAYS been of C-Wood. When he became a free agent, and left the Raiders, I was pretty damn happy that he ended up with the Packers. How heartbreaking was it to watch him on the sidelines wincing in pain in the 2nd half though??? Just made the win that much more special.

With that said, best super bowl commercial?

    Too effin’ cute.

  2. Congrats to my 2nd favorite football team, The Green Bay Packers, for making the Superbowl this year! Let me point out that this is not a case of me jumping the bandwagon (as I did with the San Francisco Giants. But to be completely fair to me, I fully admitted that I jumped that bandwagon. I’m an A’s fan at heart, but I was desperate to know how it felt to cheer for a championship team. And I wanted to attend a championship parade. So I was a Giants fan for about a month — not anymore. Or maybe for like, another day, if they do some sort of crazy parade opening day or something…but that’s it!)

To prove that this is not merely me jumping on the Packers hype, check out this post I did during last year’s playoffs where I admit my Green Bay Packer fandom. (I say 10 years I’ve been a fan in that post, but just give it a +/- of 3 years or so).

I’ve been a fan of the Packers since ‘96-‘97, the last time they won the Superbowl. Don’t really know what it was, but I just became drawn to the crazy cheeseheads and their colorful football tradition. And for whatever reason, I’ve been a fan of them since then. They’ve become my NFC team, and I can’t wait to see them kick ass in the big game.

Plus, I’d love to see C-Wood, one of my favorite ex-Raiders, win one because he deserves it. And I’d love to see Aaron Rodgers stick it to the old man, win a championship, and solidify his position as leader of the NEW Packer dynasty.

Brett Favre who? Yeah, I forgot about him, too.

  3. HANDS-TO-THE-FACE! FACE MASK! TUCK RULE!!!!! DAMN YOU WALT COLEMAN!

    Funny, but true story…

So amidst all my girlish tendencies, I actually have quite a tomboyish side to me…it’s more than quite, in fact. It’s a whole ‘notha side to me. My friend and I were discussing this the other day about how all we really have are guy friends. Don’t take it the wrong way, we have our fair share of girl friends, but we have A LOT of guy friends. And guy friends who just consider us — one of the guys, in a strictly platonic way. Seriously.

Put it this way: I spent all yesterday watching football, and the day before, even though I wasn’t near a television, I was compulsively checking my phone for the scores of both games. Sadly, only one of the teams I wanted to win won this weekend (Ravens). I’m a die-hard Raider fan, but unfortunately, it’s difficult to truly support this team with old man Al still around. I’m not a bandwagon fan, by any means, but I LOVE football, and I needed to find a way to stay interested.

To my benefit, I’ve actually been a casual Green Bay Packer fan for the past 10 years or so, and I’ve decided to latch onto them for the time being. Aaron Rodgers is a beast and C-Wood is still a Raider, to me. Needless to say, I was disappointed at the results yesterday, but not really upset…which brings me to this lovely article on yahoo today, and one of the comments below that mentioned two simple words: TUCK RULE. Yeah, I’m really one of those fans. The ones that couldn’t get over it. Still am not over it and probably will never be over it. The kind of fan that loses her lid when someone even mentions that game. The kind of fan that basically relives the moment everytime stupid MNF wants to show a replay of it just so they can hear Gruden’s feelings about it, which I’m sure is the same way most of the fans feel about it, which is that it was complete and utter BULLSHIT! That’s why I reveled in the beatdown of the Patriots. It was fan-friggin-tastic!

I bring all this up to really just plug a website that I write for. It’s a tongue-in-cheek take on weekly sports stories called The Sports Report Girl, and I’ve been writing articles as the NFL contributor for about 5 months now. I haven’t been writing for the past month or so because I’ve been busy with this whole moving business, but I’m putting out new stories this week, so check it if you want…or not. I write for a lot of different online websites, so anytime I have a new story, I’ll try to update.

Anyways, I’m pullin’ for the Saints now!!! Whooo!
